How will I be invoiced for my monthly payments?

When changing jobs, are there any other issues I need to consider regarding my loan (Note and Security Agreement) or lease with Daimler Truck Financial?
A:
If your truck insurance coverage is obtained through your employer, please notify your insurance agent and instruct them to list Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC as loss payee and additional insured for loan contracts and Daimler Trust as loss payee and additional insured for leases. The agent should then send Daimler Truck Financial a copy of the insurance certificate (via mail), to the attention of the Client Services Department

When is my Year-End Interest Statement available and how can I obtain it?
A:
Year-End Interest Statements are available after January 31st of each year and can be obtained online at www.daimler-truckfinancial.com.

As an owner-operator, I travel quite a bit and am not always available to handle issues about my account. Is there any way I can assign a third party to manage or discuss my account with Daimler Truck Financial?
A:
Yes. Daimler Truck Financial requires you to provide verbal authorization to disclose account information to a designated person Contact Client Services to authorize.

How can I obtain an amortization schedule of my loan?
A:
Amortization schedules are only available to customers financing under a Note and Security Agreement. Please contact Client Services or Fleet Services to obtain a copy of your schedule.

This process is designed to facilitate the transfer of a vehicle title from one state to another. See below for a list that identifies where the original title is held for retail accounts.

How do I get a copy of my title?
A:
You can obtain a copy of your title by calling the Customer Service Center at (800) 222-4221 or by submitting an online title copy request form. Once you have submitted your online request form, a copy of your title will be sent out within the next two business days. To request a title copy, log in to Manage Your Account and see 'Request Documents' section.

I've recently moved and need to change the registration and title on my truck to reflect a different state. Can you send me my title?
A:

What information do I need to provide to get my title changed to a different state?

Required information includes the contact person's name, phone number and a physical address. In addition, you will also need to visit your local DMV branch to complete the necessary paperwork. By state law, my leasing company is required to be listed on the title as my lessor. Can you send the title to my leasing company to handle this?
A:
Daimler Truck Financial can forward the title by overnight mail to the state. Just contact us.

My vehicle is a lease vehicle. Do I need a Power of Attorney from Daimler Truck Financial to change the title from one state to another?

In certain circumstances, we will consider transferring the ownership of a vehicle from one individual to another.

I know someone who wants to buy my truck. What do I need to do?
A:
Call the Daimler Truck Financial Customer Service Center at (800) 222-4221 and request a Transfer of Equity individual application, have it completed by the interested party, and mail it back with a check for $100.00 (non-refundable application fee). Upon receipt, our Credit Department will review the application.

If you wish to expedite the process, Call the Daimler Truck Financial Customer Service Center at (800) 222-4221 and request a Transfer of Equity individual application be faxed to you, authorize a check by phone for $100.00 (non-refundable application fee), have it completed by the interested party, and fax it back. Upon receipt, our Credit Department will review the application. In either situation, we will contact you once a decision is made. For fleet customers with such a request, please contact Fleet Services at (877) 294-9679 for assistance.

I want to transfer my current account into my business name. What do I need to do?
A:
Call the Daimler Truck Financial Customer Service Center at (800) 222-4221 and request a Transfer of Equity business application, complete in its entirety, and return with a check for $100.00 (non-refundable application fee). Upon receipt, our Credit Department will review the application. We will contact you once a decision is made. For fleet customers, please contact Fleet Services at (877) 294-9679.

Is the $100.00 application fee all that needs to be paid to complete a transfer?
A:
After your transfer has been approved and we have received the required paperwork, we will require an additional transaction fee of $250.00. Title fees and taxes may also be required and will be communicated at this time.

I owe back payments. Will those be rolled over to the new owner?
A:
All back payments and outstanding charges must be paid before the transfer is processed.

Can I assume that I am no longer responsible for this account after the transfer?
A:
You (the original borrower) will be liable should the assuming party/parties default.

What other kinds of fees will I be charged?
A:
This largely depends on the state in which the vehicle is titled and in which state the vehicle will reside. Some fees include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Titling and Registration Fees
  • Processing Fee of $250.00
  • Taxes

Do I have to pay a sales tax?
A:
Depending on the state and/or your tax exemption status, sales tax may be applicable to the transfer.

What kind of paperwork do I need to submit in addition to the credit application?
A:
Depending on what type of business you are transferring to (Limited Liability Corporation, Corporation, Partnership, etc.), Daimler Truck Financial may ask you for additional documents which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Continuing Guaranty
  • Articles of Incorporation/Organization
  • Secretary's Certificate
  • Partnership Agreement
  • Limited Partnership Certificate
  • Insurance Certificate
  • Original Title
  • CDL
  • Cab Card Registration
  • Sales Tax Exemption Certificate

Does Daimler Truck Financial provide financing for all of the engine repairs/rebuilds?
A:
Depending on your credit status, you may pay a certain percentage as a down payment toward the rebuild.

What documentation does Daimler Truck Financial require?
A:
The following information is required for consideration of engine repair financing:
  1. Completed credit application
  2. A detailed estimate by an authorized Daimler Truck or Bus dealer or an authorized repair facility for Caterpillar, Cummins, Mercedes-Benz, or Detroit engines with anticipated repair completion date.
  3. Proof of a 2-year/200,000 mile engine warranty. Daimler Truck Financial will not consider financing repairs if the engine does not have this type of warranty.
  4. The name of the facility that is doing the repair. Include a phone number and the name of a contact person at the repair shop in case we have any questions regarding the repair.
  5. Completed truck specifications by the repair facility.
  6. Present truck mileage.
  7. Anticipated engine repair completion date.
  8. Certificate of Insurance referencing the full serial number showing "Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC" as additional insured and loss payee with the following minimum coverage: Collision (AVC or Stated Value), Fire, Theft, and Combined Additional Coverage OR Comprehensive with maximum deductible limit of $1,000.00

I owe back payments. Will those be rolled over into the new account?
A:
For qualifying customers and subject to credit approval, back payments may be rolled into the new contract.

Can you tell me what my new payments will be?
A:
The new payment amount is subject to the terms and conditions that the Daimler Truck Financial credit department provides upon approval.

Daimler Truck Financial may accommodate refinancing for eligible customers.

Does Daimler Truck Financial finance trucks sold at dealerships other than Daimler dealerships?
A:
Daimler Truck Financial only finances vehicles sold through our authorized Daimler family of dealerships.

Can I get financing for my balloon payment?
A:
Customers may be eligible to finance their balloon payment if they have sustained a good payment history and after all contract obligations have been met.

I currently have a vehicle that I'm leasing. I'm interested in buying it. Will Daimler Truck Financial provide financing for me to buy this vehicle?
A:
Daimler Truck Financial can provide financing for a lease-to-retail transaction. You will need to complete a credit application and provide all additional required documentation.

JumpStart is a program that allows eligible owner-operators and small OTR business customers to alter their contract terms and conditions to better suit their needs. For more information call (800) 222-4221 between 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. CT to speak to a representative.

What is the JumpStart Program?
A:
JumpStart is a program designed to help customers who are currently experiencing financial difficulties for various reasons by offering them the option of lengthening their present contract term in order to decrease the monthly payment amount. This is not a refinancing program and limited customers may qualify. It's simply a way to help customers get through a tough financial bind.

Is the JumpStart Program available to all Daimler Truck Financial customers?
A:
Customers that have a truck that is within the last five model years and who have made at least 18 regularly scheduled payments are eligible to apply for the JumpStart Program. Qualifying for the program is subject to Daimler Truck Financial credit approval.

Is the JumpStart Program available only to loan account customers?
A:
Yes, only loan account customers who meet the criteria may apply for the JumpStart Program. However, subject to Daimler Truck Financial credit approval, lease account customers may request to convert their account to a loan.

Payments should be made on or before your due date as stated in your contract.

Does Daimler Truck Financial offer a grace period for customers who submit their payment after the due date?
A:
You are responsible for making your payment on or before your due date per the conditions stated in your contract.

If the last day of your grace period falls on a weekend or holiday, can I pay without getting a late fee on the next business day?
A:
Payments must be made on the business day previous to the weekend or holiday to avoid a late fee.

If my payment is postmarked on the due date, will it be considered late?
A:
Daimler Truck Financial must receive your payment by your due date or within your grace period. Otherwise, it will be considered late and a late charge will be assessed to your account.

How is the late charge calculated?
A:
The late charge will be calculated as a percentage of the unpaid amount or some other method, based on the terms stated in your contract or lease agreement.

Completion of final payment(s) for your Daimler Truck Financial account(s).

I plan on paying off my account with a money order, cashier's check or wire transfer. When can I expect my title after that?
A:
When you pay off your account in full with certified funds (i.e., money order, cashier's check, wire), Daimler Truck Financial will release the title within five business days.

I plan on paying off my account with a personal or business check. When can I expect my title after that?
A:
Titles are released via FED EX overnight from the account within 2 business days from the payoff posted date.

Another entity/individual plans to pay off my retail account. Will I get my title?
A:
For retail accounts that are paid off by a third party, Daimler Truck Financial will release the title only to the customer. In order for the third party to receive the title, Daimler Truck Financial must receive proper written authorization from you. You can obtain a Title Release Authorization form here or by calling the Daimler Truck Financial Customer Service Center.

Submit payments to your Daimler Truck Financial account via your telephone using Phone Pay.

Can I make a payment over the telephone with a check?
A:
Check payments can be made over the phone. Depending on the state in which the unit was purchased, there may be a fee of $10.00. Funds must be readily available in your checking account. Please have the specified check in front of you so that you can record and recite your name, address, routing number, account number and payment amount from the specified check. Once this payment has been received, you will receive a confirmation letter in the mail or you can provide an email address to receive an email confirmation.

When will the funds be withdrawn from my checking account if I pay by phone?
A:
Funds are requested from your bank the same-day, if received prior to 3:00 P.M. CT, and are usually withdrawn within 48 hours of the phone transaction.

When will the payment be credited to my Daimler Truck Financial account?
A:
These payments are posted within two business days and are effective on the day of posting to the account (business days exclude weekends and holidays). If you request a phone pay after 3:00 P.M. CT of the tenth day of your grace period, you will be assessed a late fee. Therefore, consider this when discussing your payoff balance.

How can I confirm that the money has been withdrawn from my checking account?
A:
You can contact your bank and inquire if and when an Auto-Debit in your payment amount has been withdrawn from your account. (Ask your bank specifically if the Auto-Debit occurred and do not refer to a check number, since the transaction is an Auto-Debit.)

Access your account through your 'Manage your Account' tab on www.daimler-truckfinancial.com. Make online payments at your convenience and manage multiple accounts. View payment history along with payoff quotes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What date do I use when making a payment online?
A:
To avoid late charges, use the date in which you are making the online payment and not your payment due date.

How long will it take to post to my Daimler Truck Financial account?
A:
The payment will post to your account the next business day, but you should allow 3-4 business days for the payment to appear on online.

My payment is past due and the system will not allow me to access my account. Why?
A:
If your account is 45 or more days past your due date, you will not be able to access your account online and make a payment. Please contact Daimler Truck Financial by phone regarding your account.

How do I make a payment online?
A:
To make your payment, you will need to:
1. Log in to your Daimler Truck Financial account
2. If you have not yet registered your account online, you will need to sign up. Follow the account registration information on the My Account login page. Note that you must have a valid online account prior to being able to make payments online.
3. Select the contract number for which you need to make an online payment.
4. Click on Make Online Payment.
5. Enter your bank account information, payment amount, and e-mail address. You will receive a payment confirmation via e-mail.

What kind of coverage am I required to have?
A:
Lease contracts require these minimum coverages:
  • Bodily injury liability not less than $500,000 per person and $750,000 per occurrence
  • Property damage liability not less than $100,000 per occurrence or combined single limit of $750,000
  • Comprehensive and collision coverage for the actual cash value of the vehicle
  • $1,000 maximum allowed deductible
  • Daimler Trust must be listed as additional insured and loss payee
Retail loan contracts require these minimum coverages:
  • Collision actual cash value and fire, theft and combined additional coverage of the vehicle
  • $1,000 maximum allowed deductible
  • Other coverages may be required depending on equipment type, use of equipment and state of use.
  • Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC must be listed as additional insured and loss payee.

What should I do if my truck is stolen or involved in an accident?
A:
All thefts must be reported to your insurance carrier and to our Customer Service Department at (800) 222-4221. An authorized Daimler dealership should repair damages. Fleet customers, please contact Fleet Services at (877) 294-9679.

Why did the repair check from my insurance company come payable to me and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC or Daimler Trust?
A:
Because Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC or Daimler Trust are listed as the additional insured and loss payee, insurance checks for repairs should be jointly issued to one of these parties and you. To speed up the release of your vehicle from the body shop, there are two options:

  1. (Preferred)Obtaining a Power of Attorney (POA) from an authorized dealer. You will need to provide the check and the final repair invoice.
  2. Promptly send joint-payee checks and the final repair order to the address below. Insurance checks over certain amounts may require the physical inspection by an authorized dealer of repairs before Daimler Truck Financial can provide POA or endorse the check. Please enclose the name and telephone number of the body shop and note your contract number on the check.

What if my unit is declared a total loss?
A:
If your unit is declared a total loss, it must be reported to the Daimler Truck Financial Customer Care Center at (800) 222-4221. If you have received the insurance check for the total loss, you must endorse the joint-payee check and promptly send it to Daimler Truck Financial, Payment Processing (the same address you send your payments to). Fleet customers, please contact Fleet Services at (877) 294-9679.

What if I change insurance companies?
A:
If you're renewing, canceling or changing carriers, have your agent send a copy of your new policy or binder to Daimler Truck Financial immediately to the address below. The "loss payee" and "additional insured" names should be listed as Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC for loans or Daimler Trust for leases. Cancellation notices must be received by Daimler Truck Financial within 30 days of the effective date.

Daimler Truck Financial can provide you with a yearly interest letter for the previous year on an active account. Can I request the Year-End Balance from a previous year?

Does Daimler Truck Financial automatically send any tax information to me at the end of the year?
A:
Daimler Truck Financial sends out a yearly interest letter to all customers each year for the prior fiscal year.

How can I find out if I'm tax exempt?
A:
Contact your local state DMV office, ask for details about your tax exemption status or contact your accountant or CPA.

If my tax bill was mailed to Daimler Truck Financial, will Daimler Truck Financial forward the tax bill to me?
A:
Daimler Truck Financial can copy and forward all tax bills received from the tax collectors for your Daimler Truck Financial account. Just contact us.
